Took me longer than expected to read this book. No particular reason other than not reading as often as I wanted.
But the book was very good. Interesting to read about the life of a geisha, to learn how that culture works. I am not usually a fan of love stories, which is part of the theme in this book, but this was different than expected. It wasn't over the top perverseness. As cheesy as it sounds, the story draws you in and you want to see the main character accomplish her goals.
I would recommend this book, but not to everyone. Its more suited for someone with an interest in the Japanese culture, and wants to learn what it truly means to be a geisha. Also more suited for someone who likes love stories, and isn't looking for a fantastical imagination trip with grand adventure in made up worlds.
On another note, I had to watch the movie again right after I finished the book... Had to see just how different it was. As per the norm, a lot was changed and the book is better. The movie is great, but the book gives so much more detail and explains so much more. But yeah, I really enjoyed the book, glad I finally read it.

Fahrenheit 451 - Ray Bradbury
I once turned my nose up at this book, because I thought it was all about a society burning books. But then I came across the movie on Netflix, and was overcome with a morbid curiosity. Wasn't all bad, and made me realize I should give the book an honest chance.
The book isn't just about a society that bans and burns books. But mostly about one of the firemen and how he began to think about how things were wrong, and how he wanted to change.
December 16th - 28th
This book took me a while to read, for a couple of reasons. 1) I have been a little busy lately, and 2) the book is a bit challenging. There are no chapters in it, but instead three parts. The writing style can seem to ramble some, so its easy to get a little bored sometimes. Otherwise, the book was enjoyable. I like how Montag seemed to unfold and bloom from book burner to book keeper.
I would recommend it to anyone who asked. Its a deserving classic for its ability to challenge and entertain.

What this blog is about...
So I decided to start a blog about the books I read.
This is not only to help me keep track of what I read, when, how long, and how many books I read over a certain time period... But also as a tool for others to use when they are trying to decide what to read.
Just hoping to share some good books, and maybe help people decide on what they will read next.
Enjoy! ^-^
